Digital Radiology at Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital

Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital has purchased the latest veterinary digital radiology machine that takes high-quality, detailed radiographs (x-rays) of your pet. We use Fovea Digital Radiology equipment for basic and advanced radiographs. We are also pleased to provide our patients in the Colorado Springs are with digital dental x-ray technology using Corix X-Ray equipment.

Radiographs are one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. High-quality, detailed x-rays are useful in identifying the location of fractures, pinpointing the size and location of tumors and growths, spotting signs of heart disease and more.

Digital radiology has many benefits for your pet and our staff. Our sophisticated digital x-ray equipment produces highly-detailed images that allow our veterinarians to make a more rapid and accurate diagnosis. Because digital x-ray images can be saved on a computer, they can be transmitted quickly by email to outside specialists if a referral or second opinion is necessary. The images can also be saved to a disc and given to you. Digital x-rays are easier and faster to process than traditional film x-rays, resulting in less time on the x-ray table (and less stress) for your pet. The harsh chemicals once necessary for developing x-rays are not needed for digital x-rays, reducing potential harm to our staff and the environment.

Ultrasound

In order to provide better diagnostic care for our patients, Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital is planning to offer advanced ultrasound procedures beginning in the winter of 2009.

Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital is equipped with a state-of–the-art, in-house diagnostic laboratory capable of performing a wide array of laboratory tests. Some of the tests that we perform include:

• Urology (including in-house culture)
• Cytopathology
• Intestinal and hematologic parasite evaluation

Our laboratory is staffed by a team of specially trained veterinary technicians capable of processing and interpreting laboratory tests quickly and accurately.
