Before Surgery
Before surgery, all patients undergo a thorough physical exam so that we can design an anesthesia protocol specifically for each pet. During every surgical procedure, our staff of highly-trained, dedicated technicians closely monitors your pet. We feel strongly in providing the highest standard of medical and surgical care. This includes consistent IV catheter placement and laboratory work prior to all surgical procedures, advanced anesthetic monitoring of your pet by our trained staff and individualized pain management medication for your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort during surgery are our primary concerns and we strive to make each surgical procedure as stress-free and safe as possible. Pain management is an important part of intra- and post-operative protocols.
We understand that surgery can be a stressful situation for both you and your pet. Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital maintains a dedicated comfort room with its own separate entrance and exit so that our clients feel a little more at ease when leaving their beloved pet.

Our veterinarians and staff discuss all pain management options with you in order to develop a pain management protocol specifically designed for your pet. We also offer advanced pain management for patients in critical condition, including continuous rate infusions (CRIs) of fentanyl, ketamine and lindocaine.
In addition, we have found a tremendous positive impact that hydrotherapy has had on our patients overall wellness and physical therapy status. Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital has partnered with Paws N Tails hydrotherapy to offer additional pain managment and therapeutic options for our clients.
Laser Therapy

We are proud to offer advanced pain relief therapy using the Companion Therapy Laser. This phototherapeutic laser system is designed to provide pain relief and improved healing time for pets. This is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy that is free of side effects. Laser therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions:
- Dermatologic conditions such as: lick granuloma, hot spots, trauma, acute and chronic otitis, anal gland disease, burns and skin infections.
- Post surgical pain management and healing.
- Chronic pain from arthritis, hip or elbow dysplasia and disc disease.
- Muscle fatigue in working dogs.
- Cystitis in cats.
- Oral conditions.
- Post-dental extractions.
- Eosinophilic granuloma complex in cats.
Laser therapy involves passing a laser beam over your pet’s skin, above the area where your pet is experiencing discomfort or inflammation. During therapy, your pet experiences a feeling of warmth and is extremely comfortable and relaxed. Laser therapy causes tissues cells to reproduce and regenerate at a fast rate and reduces the pain associated with injury and inflammation by stimulating natural endorphins in the tissue.
