Microchipping your pet is the best way to ensure that your pet can be returned safely should they ever stray from home.
How does it work? A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice. It is safely implanted under your pet’s skin between their shoulder blades in a procedure similar to a vaccination. Each microchip is encoded with information that corresponds to a national pet database.
If your pet ever does get out, a registered microchip can be scanned and the information held securely in the database used to reunite your pet to you. During routine visits to our hospital, we scan your pet’s microchip to ensure it is working.
